Our Animal Welfare Inspectors are often called upon to rescue ill, injured, stray, lost animals and wildlife. They attend more than 1400 jobs of this kind each year.

They also collect long term stray and unwanted animals, however the finders/owners are asked that they bring the animals into the shelter in the first instance where possible.

Should you find a dog that is not sick or injured and is over the age of three months please contact your local city or district council animal control office. This also applies to wandering stock.
