Animal Crew Animal Nights, November, December & January

Kids (6 to 12 years old) are invited to take part in our exciting upcoming Animal Crew animal nights. There will be two sessions each month jammed packed with fun and educational animal related activities.

Can you think of a better way for your young animal lover to learn about animals in a hands-on safe environment, all the while making friends, playing outrageous games, and hanging out and helping some amazing SPCA animals? At Wellington SPCA’s animal nights, kids can do all of these things. Kids will learn everything from how to train, care for, and be a responsible animal guardian, to learning how to make our community a safer place for pets. But kids are not the only ones who will have fun…we will also be spending a lot of time with specially selected centre animals.

Upcoming events include:

Puppy Socialising – Saturday 3rd December from 5pm to 6:30pm
Pet Responsibilities, Animal Night – Saturday 17th December from 5pm to 7pm
Puppy Socialising - Monday 23rd January from 5pm to 6:30pm
About the SPCA, Animal Night – Friday 27th January from 5pm to 7pm

Animal Crew events over Summer

We are excited to announce our upcoming Animal Crew events over the summer. Can you think of a better way for your young animal lover to learn about animals in a hands-on safe environment, all the while making friends, playing outrageous games, and hanging out and helping some amazing SPCA animals?

At Wellington SPCA’s animal nights and school holiday programmes, kids can do all of these things. Kids will learn everything from how to train, care for, and be a responsible animal guardian, to learning how to make our community a safer place for pets. Activities for the October school holidays

Kids aged 6 to 12 years are invited to take part in our exciting school holiday programmes. There will be six sessions jammed packed with fun and educational activities

Can you think of a better way for your young animals lover to spend part of their school holidays than making friends, playing outrageous games, and hanging out and helping some amazing animals? At Wellington SPCA’s school holiday programmes kids can do all of these things. Kids will learn how to train, care for, and be a responsible animal guardian, along with how to make your community a safer place for our pets. But kids are not the only ones who will have fun…we will also be spending a lot of time with our centre animals. We are happy to offer this opportunity to mature, respectful young people.

We are looking for kids who want to build on their love for furry friends by learning how to provide a lifetime of love and care for companion animals. Our Animal Crew programmes are designed to promote kindness and compassion for all animals. Our school Holiday Porgrammes combine animal care and behaviour learning activities, team projects, craft activities, and hands-on interactions with animals such as cats, kittens, dogs, rabbits, rats, and more!

Spaces left at Curious Cats Animal Night

Kids ages 6 to 12 can come along for a fun and educational afternoon learning all about cats. We will make some special cat toys and meet some amazing cats. The afternoon will be filled with lots of games and activities to help us learn more fun cat facts, about caring for cats and about cat personalities. If you have a child who is cat crazy, this is the event for them!

SPCA Animal Crew September Events

This month we have some exciting events planned for our young supporters including a puppy socialising night as well as a animal night focussing on cats!

Puppy Socialising

Kids age 7 to 16 years can come along to help socialise some special SPCA puppies. Kids will spend time bathing, grooming and cuddling the puppies as well as training them. At the end kids will complete a special exercise learning more about dogs and how to help our very special SPCA dogs and pups.

DOGZ!

Our next Animal Crew Animal Night is just around the corner.

Kids aged 6 to 12 years old are invited to come along to DOGZ - a fun-packed evening where they will learn all about dogs and puppies.

We will look at everything from caring for them to their behaviour. There will be fun activities to help us remember what we have learned and as always we will meet some very special SPCA pups and dogs.

When: Friday the 27th of May

Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Awesome Animal Crew events – update!

Our Animal Crew events for Easter are all now FULLY BOOKED! Sorry if you missed out, but keep your eyes peeled for lots of other Animal Crew events coming up in the future!

Easter Extravaganza Animal Night

When: Friday 15th April
Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Where: Newtown animal centre

Kids aged 6 to 16 years are invited to come along and learn all about bunnies and how to care for them. There will be lots of fun activities including bunny massage, chocolate making, egg decorating and more! Kids get to take home their own picture of them with their favourite bunny.

School Holiday Programme – FULLY BOOKED

When: Monday 18th April
Time: 9am to 12pm
Where: Newtown animal centre

Kids can come along to learn about dog safety, work on their dog handling skills, practice training dogs and make some cool dog toys and crafts.

School Holiday Programme – FULLY BOOKED

When: Tuesday 19th April
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Where: Newtown animal centre

Kids can come along to learn about the work of the SPCA, about the animals we help and about different animal careers. We will have some hands on fun behind the scenes, while learning about the role of the SPCA in our community.
