A new way to give

Payroll GivingPayroll Giving has recently been introduced in New Zealand and is a great way to support us.

The scheme allows employees to make a charitable donation to a Donee Organisation directly from their pay and to claim an immediate 33.3% tax credit on their donation.

Prior to Payroll Giving being introduced, donors had to save donation receipts and submit them at the end of the tax year to obtain a tax refund.

 What you need to know:

  • Payroll Giving is voluntary for both the employer and employee
  • Tax credits are 33.3% of the total donation
  • The PAYE is reduced by the amount of tax credit
  • Only organisations listed on with the Inland Revenue as a Donee Organisation qualify to receive donations via Payroll Giving
  • Employers can only offer the service to employees if they file their EMS (IR348) and EDF (IR345) electronically

Wellington SPCA is a Donee Organisation and is listed as WELLINGTON S P C A (INC) on the Inland Revenue’s website under Donee Organisations.

Please pass on our bank account details and postal address to your employer for depositing donations:

Account Name: Wellington SPCA Inc

Account Number: 06 0501 0887674 00.

Postal Address: Wellington SPCA, PO Box 7069, Newtown, Wellington 6242.

If you are interested in supporting us through Payroll Giving please email Suzanne Silva, our Fundraising Manager, at SuzanneS@wellingtonspca.org.nz or call her on 04 389 8044 ext: 819.

To get more information and a more in-depth explanation of the scheme, check out the Office for the Community and Voluntary Sector’s website.

Thank you for your support!

A very unique adoption event

Hi, I'm Eric. I'm at Wellington SPCA and I need a home!!

Hi, I'm Eric. I'm at Wellington SPCA and I need a home!!

Wellington SPCA and Capital City Motors are joining forces this Saturday for a very unique animal adoption event.

Yet again, we are bursting at the seams with animals desperately in need of homes.

So, with the fantastic support of Capital City Motors, we hope to find loving homes for as many of them as possible.

Everyone is invited along to any one of Capital City’s three showrooms in Wellington, Porirua or Paraparaumu where they can meet a very special group of animals and hopefully offer them a home.

The event takes place this Saturday 24 April from 9am to 5pm.

And as an extra special bonus – anyone who adopts an animal from us on this special day will go in the draw to win a luxury night’s accommodation for two at ‘Ohtel’ and a Capital City Motors parts and service voucher worth $150!
