Rusty

Buddy was uplifted by the SPCA following a complaint from a member of the public (see Inspectorate/news & updates/from the courts SPCA v Luté Lologa). SPCA vets suspected that Buddy had been hit by a car, and his right hind leg was badly broken. The leg was treated at the SPCA and healed well. It took nearly four months for his court case to be resolved, but finally the SPCA was able to put Buddy up for adoption.

Andrew and Robyn had been thinking about getting another dog as company for their border collie cross, Zeph. They wanted a dog that was fit and energetic and would get on well with other dogs. The day Andrew came in to the SPCA, Buddy was playing with the other dogs out in the yard. There was something in his face that caught Andrew’s attention. He seemed to get on with the other dogs at the SPCA, but would he get on with Zeph? Andrew and Robyn brought Zeph in to the SPCA and, even though it wasn’t “love at first sight” for the two dogs, Andrew and Robyn knew that Buddy was to become a new member of the family. Buddy’s name has been changed to Rusty, and he is slowly winning Zeph over with his big puppy dog eyes.
